Standby Saver cuts 100% of the standby power used by TVs, Hi-Fis, Home Theatre, DVDs, Games Consoles, Mobile Phone Chargers, Wifi Routers, Computers and computers peripherals, and many many other electronic devices.
It detects when you switch your TV off with the remote control, and cuts all power to everything else you plug into the sockets. Use the remote control to switch the TV back on, and all your appliances are ready to use again.
The Standby Saver learns the signal from your own remote control and is easy to set up.
If you need to keep something switched on, like a sky + box, cable TV box, TV recorder or video recorder, there is even the option to do this, so you won't loose your settings
The unit consumes less than 1 Watt and therefore meets the requirements for power usage of the Energy Saving Trust approval scheme. Unlike other products on the market StandbySaver does not require a master/slave relationship which means the master product HAS to be still in standby mode. This measn StandbySaver wastes less power than other so called energy saving products.
Standby Saver is a 6-way electrical extension with two ‘switchable’ sockets, which can be in Standby Saver control or permanently switched on. This flexibility allows DVD and video appliances set to record on timers, to be left switched on when required.
The unit allows for up to and including 6 electrical items to be connected and therefore one unit in a lounge can save the standby power of a TV, DVD, Freeview box, two games consoles and an audio system.
Standby Saver is available in two versions: one for use with Infra red remote controlled electrical appliances, the second for use with Computer USB port products.
Infra red version
The Infra red version can be operated using any appliance that is controlled with an Infra red remote control. The Infra red unit works with your existing remote control and learns signals from it. Using the Standby Saver extension after a small delay the power to all devices is switched off. When switched back on using the Infra red remote, Standby Saver returns power to all the equipment.
USB version
The USB version can be operated with any device that has a USB port such as a home or office PC. Standby Saver uses intelligent technology to realise the computer and peripherals are no longer being used and switch them off.
